The Perfect Flight to Singapore
Animax built a game that is being used by ad agency Hamon & Associates and their client, Singapore Airlines, as part of a promotional contest called The Perfect Flight. The online game, technically a casual game, is targeted to high-end travel agents to familiarize them with the personalized service available in Singapore Airlines' Executive Economy Class.Built using Macromedia Flash, the game is an interesting example
of a casual game (definitely not a first-person shooter) that uses multiple Flash video files (FLVs) to drive the game experience. Players view a video passenger brief where a passenger details his or her flight preferences. Then the player is given a series of multiple choice interactive scenarios and must choose the best answers to make the passenger's flight the perfect experience. The happier your client is with your choices, the higher the score. Good luck and happy flying.

Orange Revolution No More?
Tonight is the anniversary celebration for DDM. It should be a happy occassion but it is slightly tinged by the rapid political developments going on in the Ukraine while we are here. Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko on Sept. 8 dismissed his Cabinet amid allegations of corruption. While things are still stable, it does sound like there is a lot of work ahead for the country. That said, the hospitality we have experienced since we've been here has been amazing.
Scooby Almost Loses His Lunch
Animax just completed producing "Scooby Doo: The Curse of the Lost Lunch," another DVD special feature piece of content for National Geographic and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The original hybrid animation and live-action video features Scooby Doo and Shaggy along with National Geographic's Kid Y on an adventure in Egypt. The DVD will be released later this year.

Playing Chicken in Kiev
Tim and Michael are in Kiev, Ukraine visiting DDM, Animax's sister studio, in honor of their 5th anniversary. It's amazing how much has changed in the short time since we were last here. Kiev is undergoing rapid growth - both physical and political - with progressive changes as a result of the Orange Revolution. It's a beautiful city, rich in history, and to top it off, the weather is perfect right now.
Curious about Kiev but don't want to spend the airfare? See the upcoming film, Everything is Illuminated. Or for those left out there who actually still read books (how antiquated), the movie was first a novel.
