Where’s My Mummy?

The latest direct to DVD movie Scooby-Doo! "Where's My Mummy?" recently came out and ANIMAX had our paws in it. Using Flash, we animated Shaggy and Scooby once again for a brand new short in collaboration with National Geographic called "Scooby-Doo: The Curse of the Lost Lunch." This is defintitely the best one in the series of shorts we did for Warner Bros. releases for Scooby, Tom & Jerry and Kangaroo Jack. This time, the short was written by Ed Scharlach, a television writing legend.

Rick Moranis, Country Artist

Who'd a thought that one half of Bob and Doug McKenzie was a budding country music star? And a Grammy nominated one at that -- beat that Carrie Underwood! Rick Moranis recently released a new country album called The Agoraphobic Cowboy and the first track "Nine More Gallons" is a hoot.

Listen to a recent interview with Rick on KCRW.

Animators and Interns Wanted

ANIMAX is on the hunt for some skilled Flash animators and even some interns. If you're interested, send an email to careers-at-animaxent.com. Retype that email the right way without the dashes - just trying to avoid getting a ton of that canned ham product.

SimpZaam

Aaron blogs the news on SheeZaam and G4.

Take a Bite Out of Bullies

ANIMAX just created an interactive story, kind of a low-fi "Choose Your Own Adventure," featuring McGruff the Crime Dog. We worked directly with the non-profit Ad Council -- who were great to work with -- for their client the National Crime Prevention Council. The Flash animated interactive shorts that we scripted try to help kids decide the best way to deal with a bully.

SheeZaam! on G4

The pilot episode of a new series Animax animated in Adobe Flash is airing on G4 this coming Wednesday at midnight as part of Happy Tree Friends & Friends (what a name - bet it wins for longest title). Written by Obie Scott Wade of ObieCo, it's a show about a hapless garbage man who finds a superhero power ring. The only thing is, the ring was meant for a woman, hence the title, SheeZaam! It's kind of a dirty so don't let the kiddies watch it.

The Simpson

Aaron gone done it again.

Wrap It Up

ANIMAX had a wrap party for the Disney Mickey, Pooh and Character Gallery sites at Universal City Walk's Howl at the Moon. City Walk at night is like some post-modern EPCOT Center. Lots of costumes and posturing but it's a totally saccharine environment - folks dressed like hardcore Goths mixing with gangster rappers mixing with frat boys and Barbie doll girls all full out jamming to the cheeseball dueling pianists featured at the bar. What more could you ask for?! Anyways, it was nice to celebrate and it was clear that everyone likes how the sites turned out.

Proud Family Shorties

The Proud Family Movie, a Disney Channel original, is now available on DVD. Among the extras are a couple Flash animated shorts that ANIMAX created.

We've now produced material for several DVDs:

Tiger Woods Chips

Today the final episode of Season 2 of ESPN's "Off-Mikes" launched - Flash animation by ANIMAX, of course. It features Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg and a certain golf phenom who owns an empire. Wait, we already told you his name in the blog post title. Oh well, yes, it is the one and only: Tiger Woods.

Macrodobemedia

If you go to the Macromedia site today you'll see that the re-branding effort is underway to bring it under the new Adobe uber-brand as part of their global domination of the design tool market. The day is coming soon when ANIMAX will take over the animation universe and then all shall revel in the glory that is collectively ours!

Santa Goes to Jail

'Tis the season for Catching Kringle, the film ANIMAX animated for Jellyman Productions that features Danny DeVito, John Rhys-Davies, and another guy who is a famous broadcaster on a famous all-news television network who likes to wear suspenders but who we are barred from mentioning directly by name. Merry Christmas!

We're Getting Cold Hard Flashes
