GPS Fishtrap

Another Animax mobile project unveiled: GPS Fishtrap is now available on select handsets. It's a mobile game developed by GloFun that Animax Entertainment designed artwork and game elements for. The game takes place underwater as you try to trap fish. The actual gameplay itself is moved forward by what you do in the real world. As you walk around town with your mobile device, you actually participate in the game since it uses the handset's GPS system to calculate your physical location. It uses this data to move your boat through the virtual sea as you troll for fish. It's pretty interesting technology and it has a neat look too.

A Healthier Disney

There's been lots of news lately about how Disney is trying to cut the fat, so to speak, out of its approach to promoting healthier eating and living for kids. Animax likes this news. Animax likes Disney. Animax likes healthy kids.

We're in AWN

Looks like it's the press release verbatim, but the Animax name is in there. It's an article about The Little Mermaid being featured in the Keep Oceans Clean website we built for the Ad Council.

We'll Be the Judge

Michael Bellavia of Animax is going to be one of the judges in the 2006 Advanced Media Technology Emmy Awards. The winners will be announced at CES in January. We won the first broadband Emmy Award so now we shall judge who is worthy to enter the fold and take their seat next to us on our thrones of premiere universal excellence. It feels good to be humble.

More Motion

The Disney DBot continues his mischief, bouncing around spreading pixie dust all over the recently launched Disney Motion broadband video portal - new animations, lower thirds, and watermarks abound. Animax really, really likes the DBot.
