Torrence Tapped as CEO

Today Animax announced that its board of directors named Corey V. Torrence to serve as the company's Chief Executive Officer. The digital advertising exec set to open new markets for our growing digital creative agency.

Torrence came to Animax from Prodigious Worldwide, a Digitas/Publicis Company, dedicated to digital production and innovation. During his tenure as President, Torrence assisted in the acquisition and integration of three digital production agencies and established over ten partnerships with premier technology firms in both products and services globally.

Virtual Worlds Forecast 2009

Animax participated in the Virtual Worlds Management Industry Forecast 2009 issued by Show Initiative. The survey collects responses from over 60 industry execs, analysts, observers and thought leaders on what the coming year holds for the virtual worlds industry. An interesting read especially for those interested in youth, entertainment and toy driven virtual worlds.

Canuck Contest Results

We will announce the results of the first ever Animax Canucks Cartoon Script Contest at the upcoming Kidscreen Summit. The 10th Annual Kidscreen Summit takes place February 11-13th, 2009 in New York City. Animax Entertainment will award the top three finalists with cash prizes and the top award winner with a development option. The contest was open to all Canadian citizens submitting material.

More Slacker Cats

ABC Family finally launched more episodes of the Flash animated TV show Slacker Cats. You can watch streaming versions of the episodes on ABC Family's website or you can download them from iTunes. In particular check out episodes 6 & 11 to see Animax's animation handiwork.

Bob & Doug Update

For all the folks who've been asking, the air date for Bob & Doug on Global in Canada has moved to sometime in early Spring /late Summer. Good news about that is that now there will be even more episodes to enjoy.
